The DBC's Swift. Great care and craftsmanship went into this bicycle design. It's the culmination of years of listening to what you want in a City Bike and riding bikes in and from cities around the world. This bike looks familiar, but rides like nothing you've ridden before.

• Seating is upright - similar to a European city bike - yet hills are easily tackled.
• The Swift is balanced; handling requires only a light touch. Even in tight turns, this bicycle always feels stable. At low speeds, she's easily manageable.
• High quality steel and modern building techniques mean a lighter bike, a long lasting frame and a smooth ride even over rough surfaces.
Ricky DeFrancisco of Cantabrigian Mechanics, has been bending pipe and working torches for a lifetime. Ted Wojcik too. Their craftsmenship is what we were looking for in a finished frame. Attention is paid to each detail. Ted makes our forks as well.
Each bike is assembled by hand, as is every wheel, right here in our shop. In house, we have a very talented team of designers, engineers, wheel builders and mechanics who are involved in every aspect of the process from start to finish. We started with a new bike frame designed specifically to handle the road conditions in North American cities and worked out from there. We're driven by good ol' fashion work ethic and Yankee craftsmanship. We're continuing in a long traditon of local bicycle builders, with neighbors like Independent Fabrication, Alternative Needs Transportation etc, we have some big footprints to walk in.

Large lensed headlight has one white LED and and amber LED standlight, sure to last a lifetime. Comfortable, easy to operate brake levers. Cork grips. Matte finish bell.
Brooks Honey Leather B68 saddle. A sprung version is available as an upgrade.
Curved Front Fork is a modern design. It's strength directly effecting ride quality. Braking is smooth and strong.
Shown are Schwalbe Marathon tires in Black with reflective strip. Even if the bike's not moving, a light shone on the wheels makes the two rings light up, clearly identifying a bicycle.
Handling is spirited - steering is responsive and precise at all speeds. These birds carve through traffic.
The finned taillight. Its bright LED is wired to the generator (inside the front hub) and contains a capacitor for maintaining a charge. It's mounted low on the non-drive train side for visibility in traffic.
For painting, we use only the powdercoat process - it's the most environmentally friendly - it washes away clean, no harsh chemicals. We also use locally and US made components whenever available, and will do so until we begin manufacturing our own designs.
Our bikes are for keeps. Ride it, share it, loan it, and pass it on.
